Panther Digest and Panther Lair both recap the Pittsburgh Basketball Club Pro Am action from last night. Panther Digest writes, "South Hills Audi 99 SPK Law 71. South Hills Audi took over the leader board in the standings with a dominant 99-71 win over SPK Law. Nolan Cressler led the way with 28 points in the win. Former Pitt star Chevon Troutman, again, came up big with 18 points and nine rebounds. Tracy Foster led the South Hills Audi team with 10 rebounds, overall. Another former Panther, John DeGroat, finished in double-figures with 12 points. Despite the loss, SPK Law had four players in double-figures, led by Jones--playing in back-to-back games. Pitt's Mike Lecak finished with seven points. Contributing heavily in the heavy victory margin, a 58-36 edge in rebounding by South Hills Audi." Panther Lair recaps, "The Cresslers combined for 42 of South Hills Audi's 99 points as the squad earned its fourth-straight victory and handed SPK its first loss of the summer in the night's second game. Nolan Cressler led South Hills Audi with 28 points including 4 for 8 from beyond the arc. Andrew Cressler added 14 tallies of his own and dazzled the Green Tree crowd with a number of high-flying dunks, both in transition and one drives to the basket. After taking a four-point lead into halftime, South Hills Audi opened the second stanza with a 20-5 run, making it 64-45. The closest SPK would get in the second half was 15 as South Hills Audi continued to control the action. Pitt alum Chevron Troutman scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the win. Lance Jeter continued his impressive summer play, netting 10 tallies, pulling down nine rebounds and dishing six assists. Lucky Jones, playing his second game of the night, scored a team-high 18 points for SPK, who were without Lamar Patterson and Mike Young Monday night. C.J. Hester, also pulling double duty on the night, added six points and 12 boards."
Below, Cornell's Jamal Cherry, is interning at the National Energy Technology Laboratory in Pittsburgh. He is with his internship-mentor, Dr. Grant Bromhal.
