- The Syracuse Post Standard "previews" Syracuse's opponents in the ACC and writes of Boston College, "Boston College men's basketball coach Steve Donahue previously spent 10 years coaching Cornell, including a run to the Sweet 16 in 2010."
- Former Cornell assistant coach, Jay Larranaga, currently an assistant with the Boston Celtics, is a candidate for the Celtics' head coaching job per YahooSports. While at Cornell, Coach Larranaga helped produce the highlight/marketing videos of Cornell's class of 2010 members--Ryan Wittman and Louis Dale before they embarked on their European pro careers. After leaving Cornell, Larranaga kept his Big Red connection and was in conversation with Jeff Foote about joining Larranaga's NBA D-League Erie Bay Hawks team before Foote eventually left for a pro contract in Poland. Foote and Larranaga would eventually face each other in the D-Leauge. Larranaga could join Randy Wittman as the second current NBA coach with connections to Cornell's Newman Arena.
